Issue with HORRIBLE sound quality

I think you'd need to set up a mic and see what going on with the response with a program like rew. A dmm or dd1 is just for setting gains
I did try REW a few times. The first time, I was able to get my highs and mids to sound better. But no change to the bass and sub bass. And since then, I can't get REW to work right. It doesn't show the entire frequency range. It shows like from 30hz down only.
I've tried two laptops.
The reason that I mentioned the DMM and the DD1 was because I wanted to say that I'm not just slapping some amps In and calling it a day. I've set them up as correctly as I can. But I've been having issues with setting the gains too.

I think you should get that car exorcised from the spirit that left your hearse and squatted in it.
You may have some sort of electronic interference if even the meters are not working. Maybe a faulty GPS tracker? Search the car for some item that looks like it does not belong. Also ask an audio shop if they can use an oscilloscope on your charging system to see if something is off.
So here's the thing, wouldn't the Hearse have issues?!?!?! Or maybe the ghosts are helping the Hearse!!!!!

🤔
Is your roof sound deadend? I am thinking cancellation caused by it. I can not think of other panels big enough to cause that.
--Try setting a heavy blanket with something heavy on it atop of the car roof. See if that does anything.

He said it sounds the same if he takes it out of the car, which would eliminate cancellation in the car.

Same.

I do notice a better sound when not driving though. Sitting in my driveway the sound is better, but still horrible.
Driving, it sounds so much more anemic.
In that case, would you test using an independent battery and audio source? This way we would exclude the car's electrical from the loop.

Actually, I was thinking of taking everything out again and bench testing it. I just need to make the time.
Also, I don't have a dedicated test bench, so I'll have to use the Battery from the Hearse and a trickle charger.

One more thing. I did put in a 260 amp alternator, and changed all lights to LED.

Are you using the crossovers on your hu as well as the dsp? The combination might cause issues with your sub
Nope, I have tried that, just to see what would happen, and no change. Currently, there is only bass and treble adjustments on the HU, and they're both set to '0'.
And I've also messed with the crossovers on the amps, but currently all crossovers not on the DSP are turned off. All amps are set to full.

Odd you would mention this as I remember my dad telling me that a trailer he picked up, had all new LED lighting that burned out a few of his truck's fuses. After a few shops he concluded it may be the LED lights. He changed them out and issue solved.
Well, I've only recently, maybe 2 years ago changed everything out to LED. And I've been dealing with this issue for about 8 years now.
