Is this ok for the Big 3 ?

Hi guys

After using my 0/1 guage runs to the rear of my car and with a second battery, I decided to use the left over towards the Big 3. I had just enough to do, chassis to engine and negative post to chassis, but from the alternator to positive post, I used 4 guage with a 4 guage inline fuse holder/fuse. Is that ok, not being 0/1 guage as well? I have tons of 4 guage now, so I thought Id use it for there. thx

i'd use the 1/0 for the pos run, then double up the 4ga for the neg runs.

I always thought the grounds were more important cuz they f shit up if they aren't able to transfer enough power

1/0 is easier to put in a fuse holder than 2x 4ga. which is why i say do it like that

jco is right ground is already their so just use the 1/0 ga for power

How big is ur alt?

and what wire is currenlty there? Are you going to do an additional run or replacement run?

If you haven't upgraded your alternator, then 4 ga power from Alt to batt will be fine.

that will never exceed the capabilities of 4 ga but of course everyone on this forum is going to tell you you need 0 ga.

90 amps X 12 volts= 1080 watts

90 amps X 14 volts= 1260 watts
