800prs Issues

I've had my 800prs installed for about 3 weeks. Just yesterday when using the aux 1 input on the bottom of the faceplate I was getting pop through my sub when turning my car on or off. Then after doing it once or twice more today, my sub completely cut out and I am getting no sound from the subwoofer at all. Does this sound like the pico-fuse going out or is it possibly something a lot worse? I've been trying to research the 880prs and similar issues, but all I'm finding is people talking about whine as opposed to total loss of signal.

Yes it can be used as an aux. It's AUX1 and the one behind the HU is AUX2. It doesn't sound like a pico issue. If it is was, you'd still be getting your sound, it would just have a nasty alternator whine in it. It's possible you also did pop your pico and when you resolve this issue you will have alt whine, though.

You need to diagnose.

Double check all your grounds and make sure they are tight.

How is your amp grounded? It's possible you have a weak ground and the RCAs are being used as the ground sometimes.

Does the amp turn on?

Connect another audio device to the amp to see if it plays.

Remember to not swap any RCAs while the HU is on. That can pop your pico.

The amp turns on. The amp is grounded to sanded metal underneath my back seatbelt buckle mount point. I can't check my groundpoints on the deck right now as I don't have the allen wrench set i did during the install. Any more input would be cool. I'll try to diagnose more when I have the tools to do so.

I've read around that people do not recommend using the seat/buckle bolts as a grounding point. I used a Streetwires Grounding block and bolted it to the metal wall in mt wheel well

Still haven't had access to some allen wrenches to check everything out, but I messed around a little bit today. I unhooked the speaker wire from my amp to the sub box terminal cup. If I touch the posts with the wire, I get a little bump out of the sub as it's grounding out I guess. I also touched the wire to the posts on a spare speaker I had and the cone just goes out (like with a 9v battery). Dunno if this will shed some light on whats going on. I really hope my sub isnt fried //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

jsut read that it does turn on...U might have just blown ur output on the amp. CAn ur try a new amp or even try some new subs in there>?
I don't have another amp to test, but like I said if I hook up a spare speaker I had lying around the cone just goes out like if I was testing it with a 9v battery.
