Is this JL sub any good?

I'm trying to buy a stealth box manufactured specifically for my vehicle, but i can't find one without the actual sub included in the price. It's a JL Audio 10W1v2-4

10" 4 ohms in a sealed box. I just want the best 10" sub I can get with good sound quality. Worst case scenario is I pay $500 just for the box and try to sell the sub. Any opinions please?

here are some opinions.... dont buy that sub and box...h ave a member on here build the box fr you, and then buy a seperate sub....should be able to get something for way better than $500

it's not worth $500.00. maybe $300.00? i had a single 12w1 in a ported box a long time ago and it was great as a beginner system. i would search for a used setup or get something made using a better sub if you want to spend $500.00.

x2, get a 10'' Fi Q and get a box built for you for like 100bucks. spend like lil over 350$ and will sound nice and 10x better than 12w1

Problem is the box is really wacky and I don't know that anyone could duplicate it :/

Maybe if I keep pleading with the JL distributors I will find someone to sell me just the box without the sub?

lol you dont know bjfish.......we do have some great builders on the site. They may not duplicate it but given the right dimensions may be able to build something similar

x2 Im sure bjfish could come close if not better and his prices are nice not to expensive for good quality work.

I'm not sure I could find the dimensions unless JL audio wanted to release them to me per request. I found a used one for $350+$25 shipping, is that a good deal? for just a box :/

*edit* the sub is there too, but I would only be using the box.

No, Bjfish could build you one probably around 150bucks-200 shipped. if not cheaper and probably better quality send him a message and im sure you can find specs somewhere online

Also post the year and model/make of your car maybe some people can help find the dimensions of that box.

its for BMW X5. The box is manufactured by JL Audio as Stealthbox for all 00-06 X5's.

I can't find any information on this sub. Is it the best option for a single 10"? What is the offical name? (yes noob)

http://www.ficaraudio.com You'll find it there under Model "Q" and yes its a very nice Sound quality subwoofer gets low and high. but for the space your working with not to sure. maybe some other people have some input as well. I know theres other good SQ subs. like Elemental Designs or Image Dynamics subwoofers as well.
