is this enough power?

I have a 2000 eclipse which I believe is 110 amp stock alternator on the i4 engine do I need to upgrade my alternator? I'm going to be running an orion 1200d with two skar vvx 10's D4 and an orion 8004 for speakers. The reason I ask is because I'm having a ***** time finding one so far the only legitimate bolt on fit is a 190 amp DC Power alternator which is selling for 409 and I don't know if I want to spend that much money without really needing it since its only 190 amps. If I do will this be enough?

Meh, maybe. If you keep the gains low on the speaker amp or get a smaller speaker amp.

try ohio generator they had a 300amp made up for my buddies eclipse though i think his may have been an older model than yours

i think i'll only be using half the power of it running it at 4 ohms per individual channel or 400 rms plus the 1200 of the other amp for a total of 1600

i think certain companies make them to order but don't usually just carry them. I'll have to contact them though see about how much they would charge.

either way the big three and a good solid batt will help.

im drawing 120amps from my stock 145amp alt and my truck barely notices it even at idle.and this is before the big three with a factory batt.

you will be drawing a good 160amps at peaks which you current alt cannot keep up with so the voltage has to come from the batt attached to it. only problem with jut adding batts is when you drain them the alt has to recharge them. which it cannot do while suppling voltage to your amp.

but batts have their place they do buffer large voltage draws. and most music isnt really consistent so the alt can recharge the batt during the quieter passages in the music. trick to it is to not rely soley on batts they have to have a good charging foundation as well

818 442 9082 bnr auto...I got mine from there pretty inexpensive and they do direct fits

I got mine pretty cheap..I don't mean to be a hater on DC power, Singer, EA, and other companies that specialize in HO alts for car audio, but if you can get a cheaper alternator that puts out good power than why by double for one. They ship and did mine, a 200a direct fit for lexus with an overdrive pulley for like 240....singer wanted 369 for one, it is garanteed, but still big difference.

Didn't notice your reply till now, how's the alt holding up? Did you ever test it to see if its doing rated?

not yet man....gonna take it soon though, hopefully before my warranty is up hahaha!!
