Yea that is way too small for 1/0. Like KnuKonceptz said, the dime should be 1/16th bigger than the wire. I have 1/0 that measures 5/8ths in diameter, and a dime is 11/16ths.

the wire is appx. 1/2 the dia. of the dime. (just the wire, not the wire+insul.)

Dime diameter = 17.91mm, wire dia. = 8-9mm

17.91 mm = .705"

8-9mm = .315-.354"

Dia. of 1/0 wire = .323"

That's legitimate 1/0 wire.

The only issue IMO is the thin insulation. Be extra careful to avoid the possibility of cutting/wearing through it.

Wire gauge is based on area so diameter is subjective to gauge of strand and number of them. If is was solid copper, 8.2mm would be the diameter, stranded = 9.5mm again this is averages by AWG. Area is what matters. If you can get a strand cound and strand diameter you can find out exactly what you have.

Yes that is small but free is great. My kicker hyperflex would match that dime and maybe outsize it. Of course it costed a good bit.
