is this correct for box volume? truck wedge

I have a truck wedge box that is 57" long, 15.5" high, 8.5 wide at bottom, 5" wide at top the box has a divider between the chambers so that would make the width 56.25" wide correct? (outside measurements)

ok so I went to this site box calculator and entered these dimisions 15.5"X 56.25"X 6.75 in the bottom section and it gives me 3.4cf. is this correct?

I got the 6.75 by adding the width of the top and bottom together and then dividing by 2.

so my wedge box is about 1.7cf. for each sub before displacement?

my subs displace about .18cf I think.. so that would give me roughly 1.5cf to each correct?..

thanks guys.. got my answer on the second question

my subs are audiobahn 1200q's their sealed box volume ranges from .5 - 1.5cf.

think if I got some poly and stuffed into it that it would help? or is it not nesessary.

I take it you are looking for better bass /spl ?

30-40% box fill will improve it some , i had the same problem with my single cab ram , sounded ok sealed , then I built a custom ported box that filled the whole back area behind the seat , made a huge difference to me cause I was looking for more of a spl setup than sq . I dont know what kind of truck that you have but in my opinion , and some will argue . one or two ten inch subs ported or one 12" sub ported will sound twice as good spl wise as anything sealed . just my opinion .

I'm not really wanting spl.. I want the rumble and long bass not excursions that hip hop bass gives... don't get me wrong, I love the sq that I have.. just wanting more thump... I probably could get that with a little polyfill and a bigger amp.. right?

ok , poly would only deepen the bass a little , more thump would come from more juice which would make sense , not sure which of your amps that you have on the subs ? but the pyramid and audiobahn I would say are both overrated . I am guessing you arent coming close enough to the subs rms rating especially since they are sealed ,you could even go a little higher . you might want to go with an amp pushing more watts . such as a 9.1 , da d61000.1 or even hifonics bx1500d , rf 1001bd ....

you say that you like the audiobahns sq which surprises me , usually they are not known for that . I have personally never heard the 1200q's in person though . what is the rms rating on those ?? 500ea ?

ive met up with golden knob a few times. his truck is loud. i thought it sounded pretty good considering the prefab sealed box and all. i have an infinity 10.1 perfect sealed 300w rms and his subs are 100x louder.

but then again ive never heard high end 12s in a sealed box

the 1200Q's are 700RMS each. My audiobahn amp (sub amp) is pushing 1000 watts. I've tested it with a DMM and my gain is only up to 3/4. ya I need a new amp though, that can push the wattage I need. I'll be looking into getting one in the near future, hopefully next month

thanks for the compliment btmorris. I think yours sounds good too for a 10.

audiobahns have great sq in sealed boxes.. it's when they are ported that they arn't supose to sound to hot. althought I don't know that for sure.
