Man, you could have gotten a better amp on our classifieds for 300$.

I'm not trying to break your balls, but I'm just giving you a helpful suggestion.

And I like the fact you are asking questions and want to get things right the first time, most noobs will think they know it all until problems arise.

The HU will be good to use, however the Sony amps tend to break easily in some cases, and from what I've heard their distortion percentage is more than they advertise in the specs. As for subs, MTX is alright I guess, I've never personally owned one, but I wouldn't spend my money on it. Like I said the classifieds will help you get louder for less money.

ike is soudn out of 4 ohm subs but still has 2 ohm subs still available.

If you want to brand match you can go with two audioque SDC2.5 10s for $129 a piece with an AQ1200D for $249 or two type R tens which would be about $99 a piece and you could use the AQ1200D or find another amp in the classifieds. There are many different possibilities out there though so have a look see.

yep thats the type r. you can get that a lot cheaper though. crutchfield is pretty expencive. cant you go on ebay? bet you can get a type r for half that price. maybe look at a cadence txa1000. woofersect.com still has some. 1000w for $250 if you want something new. if you can go used, look on this forum. a ton of great stuff at a low price.

wow... please look around. im telling you, you can get that same quality stuff for half that price or spend about the same and have a killer system. look up those RE SE subs and find a new amp thatll power them.

thats way to much for a type r because you can get them for about $99 to $150

Assuming you got a grand to spend being that you said you could go 300 for subs and you paid 300 for that Xplod amp, I would do:

Audioque 1200D....... $250 shipped and far better than an XPlod

2x Audioque SD 2.5 10s for about 300 shipped. You could do 2 type R's off ebay and save a little more money too.

For a Head Unit, I am not too familiar with Alpine HUs, but I would only mess with the 9887 from them. I assume that one has all the features you wanted at the price you wanted?

Wow... dual 4 ohm, 600 RMS, decent price. thanks. ok i know the amp should go since so many say they tend to break often, overpriced, etc., but if I am to use the amp for now... do you guys think i could run two of these subs bridged without any trouble? or should i stick with once 12' type r (if i can make it fit) with this amp.

You keep hearing that the amp is shit, but yet you keep trying to make it work.

I am really not sure why you are asking for help. The amp is 2 ohm stable. I would make sure whatever sub(s) I get can be wired for that ohm load.

I wouldnt base what you get off that amp....buy the two SE's for $140 shipped, send back the amp getting your 300+ back and buy a AQ1200D for $250 shipped and put that $50+ into a new box for the SE's in the future. Thats if you want to buy your amp brand new, if not just look in the classifieds and find an amp that will work with those subs for less.
