Hi, i'm new to car audio because i am going to be 16 in a few months and am starting to build my system. I have a lot of knowledge when it comes to home audio and have been researching car audio for quite some time now. I have finally narrowed down what i want and i am wondering if you guys think it will be right for me. I like bass a lot, but i do want some sq out of my system. My main goal is to have the baddest system at my school which wont be hard because no body at my school knows anything about car audio. with that being said i like the looks of the Hifonics Bx 1205d mono block amplifier. I am not a groupie but i also like the looks of the new alpine 12'' type R's. I have a king cab mazda truck so I have plenty of room. I am planning on putting two type r's in individual slot ported boxes probably around 2.5 cu ft each tuned to about 37 hz. do you think this will produce the sound i am looking for. and also how many ohms should i run the amp at so i know which voice coil R's to buy. any sugestions on box design will be greatly appreciated.

someone actually did thier homework!! alright!

but run it at 1 ohm... HOWEVER hifonics arent really notorious for doing thier rated power.

what music is 32-34 hz going to sound best with? and i allready heard hifonics is not well known for producing rated power but at one ohm it is rated at 1200 rms so if it is less will it be enough to push two R's?

latin fusion.

Seriously though, that is a question that can't be anwsered. You can listen to anything with anything. Just a higher tuning could get peaky. Stick with 30 hz and you'll be fine.

Go with a orion 1200 or a viper 1200 they are like 200 bucks. and much better then hifonics. tune it much lower 32 for SQL. and ull be loud and still sound good.
