Is this a decent deal?

My rig got broken into recently and my subs got stolen, 2 old(**** cone) JL 12w0s in a JL box. I've been checking craigslist for new subs but not really up on prices since I was happy w the old ones so haven't really looked at car audio stuff since then.

I found 2 JL 12W3(believe it's the newest kind, smooth cone) in a sealed box also includes a JL 500/1 amp, all for $500. Seems like a decent price but it's been on craigslist for a couple weeks so I'm worried maybe I'd be over paying. Any input?

you could get cheaper specially here i seen the new w3 for 80 each and 500/1 for 150-200

I would say thats probably worth about $300. If you are comfortable building your own box, then you could find some nicer equipment in the classifieds.

ebay i bought most of my minivan stereo their and had a shop install it all.

8 12" subs and 11 amps 6 speakers and the deck and caps.

I'm really looking to buy ones already in a box.

I'll offer $300 and see what he says. Doesn't seem all that high compared to other stuff on craigslist here. Also seems like all that stuff new is around $650 not including the box.

my entire setup was taht price lol... iv seen the 500/1 in audio shops for $500 so it all depends on your perspective on whether its a good deal or not.. stay away frm big brands if youre a buyer otherwise youll be paying for that name in most circumstances, you just have to be persistent on the craigslist search, and I'd also bet you that you can get a much better deal buying the subs/amp separately..

also the reason that guy is asking $500 for it is becauase hes one of those sad individuals who paid $500 for the amp plus another $500 for the subs in box from the local audio shop and he is selling it at half price (vs what HE paid) but he doesnt realize that the 'deal' he is offering is a joke when you can get the same setup new for less than his $500 pricetag.. unfortunately most of the time they dont know better and arent trying to rip anyone off, rather theyre passing the raping they took onto some other fool.. I'm sure that setup will eventually sell for $500 to some high school kid spending his parents money so thus why the shops will continue to charge $500 for the amp alone, BECAUSE PEOPLE WILL PAY THAT MUCH FOR IT...
