is the PG x600.1 600w rms or peak?

i see; sorry for the noob questions but this will be my first system so I'm rather new to car audio. I guess I'll just use them in the 2ohm configuration that I was originally planning on.

The extra resistance would just be wasting power by converting it to heat. i.e. subs would not be as loud.

i have a x1200.1 and it runs 1600 rms

unless yours is a super rare case... the x1200.1' never benched any higher than just over 1300 watts. they were the least underated amp put out by pg as specifically said quoted by one of the engineers that designed them... the only way you are getting that kind of power is if you did the xe-load mod... i specifially asked one of the engineers he said no way running with xe-load, got a birth sheet to confirm this.. he even asked to see one..

also the x600 will draw a max current of aroun 90 amps even at 1ohm... or with the xe-load mod... they max out just around 100 amps...
