is the PG x600.1 600w rms or peak?

title pretty much says it all, I've been looking around online and some places show it as 600w rms, and others show it as 600w peak power, which one is it?

I would be using it to power 2 soundsplinter rl-i8s and using an alpine cda 9811 HU btw

I'm hoping to be able to wire the two subs seperately so the x600.1 would make that easy, but only if it puts out 600w rms. Other wise I'll probably go with a cadence z9000 that will do 300w x 2 at 4ohm, but it isn't a class D...

rms.. and they probably put out more like 700-800 rms... at least thats what the new style birth sheets show..

make sure your final load is 4ohm and your electrical system will thank you...

I don't think I can get it to a 4ohm load, I have 2 single voice coil 4 ohm subs, so I think its going to be 2ohm whether I like it or not

would it be better to go with the cadence and wire the subs seperately so the amp sees two 4ohm loads even though its an a/b class?

you're gonna get pretty much the same power at 1-4 ohms due to the Xe.load circuitry, but I belive the 4 ohms load will need the least amount of current to get a certain wattage.

Mine is rated at 618wrms @ 4 ohms, but somebody told me that it will do 800+ anyway because the testing from that birthsheet wasn't done thoroughly enough. Can anybody confirm?

I haven't taken the time to call PG yet, and I haven't even installed it.

so using drivers with the proper ohm rating/VCs and wiring is the only correct way to do this, or is there another good way to alter the ohm load that the amp sees?

i wouldn't really worry about that much current. just do the big 3 and upgrade the battery. should be efficient enough for you.

and it's the same rating from 1-4 ohms so wire it however you want. yes at 1 ohm the amp will need more voltage to produce a certain power the subs see. just wire it at the least resistant load you can.
