Whats Jl stands for??
Ok i have a 500 rms total mobile audio amp with current draw of 60 amps(4 15 amp fuses on amp) and a jl audio e4300 40 amps current draw is 6 guage wire sufficient or i need to up size and will this make a big difference in performance of the 2 amps.

NB. Amps are under the 2 front seats

5 gauge isnt too common to buy
Wal-Mart has all-in-one wiring kits by Scosche with 5awg in 'em all day long, friend. Boxes and boxes and boxes of 'em //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Edit: Bimma beat me to it.

I'd go with the common opinion here and go with 4awg as well. It leaves you with more room for expansion later should your system grow beyond its current configuration.

I agree...I HATE running wire //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif. If you plan on keeping the car for quite some time, I'd go with at least some 2awg //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif. You'll wanna upgrade...doesnt matter what you say now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I ran 1/0 which was more than I really needed, and I'm downgrading //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif. No such thing as overkill in my book.
Always better to have and not need rather than need and not have. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsup.gif.3287b36ca96645a13a43aff531f37f02.gif
