Amp not putting out?

i went to an old friends house to help him trouble shoot his setup but i didnt have too much time. he's running 8g from a new battery. I used a DMM: power and remote read 11-12v, subs final load 4ohms, ground .5ohm. first amp was a bazooka 300w, power light came on but no output to subs and DMM read nothing (no V, 0-.2ohms). 2nd amp was a brand new pioneer 380rms from walmart, same results there. What could the issue be? his rca's did look a little corroded inside but the DMM read .5V in the trunk, all this off a sony HU. figured i'd get some ideas before i go back over n fix it, thanks

could be an rca problem; was there an on/off sub on the deck? did you guys try different rcas?

i didnt bother messing with the deck much just know all EQs were set flat, no i didnt try swapping rcas, like i said i didnt have much time had to meet my girl in like 15min. i figured though if the rcas are transfering .5V to the trunk then theyve gotta be ok right?

i did notice his ground was pretty shiity, grouned to rust. i told him how to ground it better as i was leaving. anything else you guys can think of?
