Despite the economy and many large corps. having mass lay-offs, the company i work for is actually making money hand over fist. Last month we had record shipments out of my plant. Here's a news story that ran in todays local paper

I feel pretty blessed that i even have a job right now. A lot of my family members have been laid off and csnnot find jobs...makes me feel a bit guilty that i do have a good paying job.

How is your company doing?

Defense contractor. Most of our contracts are old and we already have budget for them. So layoffs are not really an issue atm. Down the road who knows because I am sure a lot of programs in the works may get shot down as new weather and spy satelites (I can't believe I do not know how to spell this) may not be as enticing as they would be during good times.

I sell nissan parts at a dealership. When I'm having a not so profitable day I usually jack prices up according to how much of an ******* I want to be. I'm in control of my own destiny. screw you if you don't like it.

I work for a small electronics company, and if it wern't for the hospital building a big medical tower we would be hurting. Our retail store isn't doing that great but it could be alot worse. That and churches seem to have alot of money right now and want new sound systems. Could be better could be worse.

Work has been slow the last two weeks, but the last two days have been busy as people are getting their tax returns back, or at least finding out how much they will be getting back.

I have been doing a ton of estimates for jobs lately which is annoying, there is also competition with other shops in the area that are less honest then ours. We had one customer that came in and got a light bulb, a flasher, and fixed a coolant leak, the next day they went to another (anonymous) shop and asked how much it would have cost. The shop quoted them for no labor, and distributor prices (no markup) for the parts, just to make it seam like we ripped her off.

My company is doing very well right now. They just got done with their mass hiring frenzy last year and will be starting another one soon. After Feb 17th, they'll be rolling in dough.
