is my cap even working???

hey guys... i jus installed a digital 1 farad cap in my maxima....i did it cause my lights were dimming a lot so i heard i needed 1 so i didnt drain my battery..but its installed and my lights still dim the same...oh and on the digital scale what do the numbers that come up mean??thanks a lot...oh and what else u guys recomend besides a cap so my battery and alternator will be alrite.....thanks

A capacitor puts more strain on your alternator. You need to beef up your source of 14.4V power, and the only way to do that is the get a new alternator, or have yours rewound.
