Is my amp set up wrong?

Ok I went to a local shop to have my amp installed. I been busy and they were cheap enough. Everything has been fine with my system but today I noticed that my bass eq setting is not on 0. It is about a quarter of the way up. Does this mean that my gain was not set corectly. I dont have a multimeter to set it with like the gain tutorial says. What should I do? Can I get more out of my system. The amp is a bx1605d and a 15l7 wired down to one ohm. The gain is about 3/4 of the way up

Pre-out voltage?

Also, Bass boost can be used correctly in coordination with the gain knob, but a good system should not need to use the bass boost for daily bump, if at all.

what is the voltage signal coming out of your hu. for example my hu has a 4 volt preout
