It's hard to say with absolute certainty, but if I was in your position I would not hesitate. And I agree with the poster above, whoever the hell he is.

I have a redtop battery as the main battery already...and a cap. I do see the needle for my rpm's move when I thump it as well as the dash lights dim a little. I have HID's so they don't dim...

Try it without the cap.

According to the marketing of them, yes. But in fact they probably do nothing to help and may just be one more drain on your electrical. There are tons of threads here discussing caps. You may want to spend some time reading them and decide for yourself.

As for where to get it, kicker, stinger, knukonceptz are just a few.

As for what size, anything better than stock is an upgrade, most people go for 1/0 just for headroom in case you upgrade later

The biggest you can find is best... But anything bigger than stock is better than stock... I would recommend 0 gauge... as it is easy to use and is beefy.

my stock alternator in my s10 is a 90 amp, but at idle, i'd be lucky to get 30 amps. i have to upgrade even after the big 3 and a red top. after doing the big 3 and getting a good battery, be prepared for the possibility of still needing to upgrade your alty. i'm just sayin'.

that's what I'm thinkin kcdc30...

I was looking at a 160amp alternator that I might go with if I need to...I'm gonna do the big 3 first and see what happens and probably get a 900 and up CCA battery. Just so many out there don't know which one to get.
