Is Kicker overrated?

You're just sounding stupid now...because that is what has to be validated...opinions. I know majority doesn't rule but I used to sell Kicker product...and was not impressed. I think they are overrated and gimicks like square subs are pointless.
Like I said before I could go with a lower end system and it would be just as loud, cost less and the mids/highs would sound better....thats why they are overrated.

I don't fight on the internet so you can say whatever you want after this but I am done...

Why does every jackass who thinks they sold a few things think they know everything about a company or product. And your argueing with Tommy, your way out of line pal. Kicker amps are deffinately underated, and can even be ran at 1 ohm with proper support. sony and kenwood(your comparisons) go by peak power and would probably fry at anything lower than rated impedence. And stop calling the L7 a gimmick, this leads me to believe you are mentally handicapped. The area of a square is greater than the area of a circle, it has a theory behind it! Now you should leave before you embaress yourself any more.

Overrated...not so much.
However, a lot of n00bs run the prefab stuff from circuit city and are general idiots. Plenty of loud guys run kicker stuff.

I'm sure you would know. Can those amps be ran at 1 ohm daily? I wanted a zx 1500 back in the day.

and actually alot of people mistake l7's for having no SQ in the right enclousre and tunning they sound great and have won several comps

i stand corrected i did not know that. But i would still be willing to bet out of all the people who buy an L7 maybe 10% have the honest intentions of a sound quality install. All i meant was that the L7 is bought for SPL first and SQ second, but i honestly didn't know the L7 was in any winning SQ setups... do you have a link to the builds or cars? i would like to look at them if you have them

After impedence rise and voltage drop I was still getting 2400+ out of it. I know some of my teammates have measured over 2700.

.5 is too low for daily, bottom line. For burps it CAN be possible, but it's not recommended at all.

My electrical is a 200 amp alt, two G31 yellowtops and 4 runs of 1/0.

i didn't know a ZX1500 could be run at 1ohm... is that a normal thing? has your amp been modded at all? is it only recommended for electrical that has been at least moderately upgraded (alternator + batts + big guage wire) and last do you ever have issues with over heating, shutting off, protection mode?

You guys are completely out of line...I stated my opinion (in a completely open and non argumentative manner) and am getting burned for it. Just because I am debating with a respected member of the forum does not warrant flaming, especially when I have provided valuable information in the short time I have been on the forum.

Just because I have a low post count does not mean I am a newb...and just because you don't agree with me doesn't mean I don't know what I'm talking about.

What I meant by selling Kicker product is that I INSTALLED kicker product...sorry for the confusion....but that does warrant an opinion on the matter.

Hitler....I don't think the debate is about the power of the amps being overrated....it is about the quality of the product/brand so I am sure the amps put out more power than they state...but thats not what we are talking about. And check online...there is a huge debate on the Solo's...I understand that the square has greater surface area but that doesn't always generate better/louder sound.

I thought mine and Tommy's argument ended on a positive note but you guys took it too far.

My point was missed...oh well.
