wow please know what your talking about before you say shit.
all class d amps put out a somewhat distorted signal.

kicker a/b's put out everything but a dirty signal

so because FI's need a box the quality is bad?

Because memphis needs a big box the quality is bad???

are you talking about sound quality? or structural quality?
Wow, those are fighting words where I come from. In my experience the Kicker amps put out a dirtier sound than other amps. Don't attack me because of my opinion especially when it IS validated AND I wasn't attacking any person...just giving feedback.

Memphis...great company makes great product. I would expect a company like that to make subs/speakers that need some extra TLC to get the most out of them. Same with FI...but the way Kicker is being portrayed....hyped up...I don't think they compare to FI or Memphis.

Apples to Oranges is your argument....

Those two statements don't belong in the same sentance.

Opinion does not = validation. Just because you think something sounds dirty doesn't mean everyone does.

I have kicker amps on my highs and my sub and I don't hear anything "dirty" about them. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Kicker is just a MUCH larger company compared to memphis and especially Fi. They have to make products on a SUPREMELY larger scale thus have to have them work for a variety of users. Their products are simple and to the point. Sure they don't have fancy cooling or options like a Fi sub, but once again a price/performance/supply ratio needs to come into play here. If kicker tried to make subs similar to Fi they would have a lead time out the *** because they build thousands of subs a year.

Are they the best sounding subs out there? No. But they are a solid product for the money.

and you know why kicker is o hyped.cause they have proven shit again and again and just become more popular because they make good products.
And subs and amps is all they can make....I would like to see Kicker make a deck....haha that made me laugh a little....a deck by Kicker.

And before you say it....I know Memphis and FI don't make decks...but lets look at the price ranges of Kicker and the product they are sold against

Eclipse

Pioneer

Alpine

Sony

Kenwood

All of them make decks and I could put a Sony system together that was just as loud and cost less (And yes just as loud because SQ is obviously not a factor with Kicker). And they have a matching deck for me to use...same goes for Kenwood.

EDIT: This is not an endorsement for Sony or Kenwood because I do not condone the use of shitty product....just making a point.

kicker is good i dont like it though all my friends have it lol im like the only dood with weird brands acording to there them but anyways FI and Mmats FTW!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I think decks is the only thing they DON'T make. Why should they have to? They have plenty of market share in the rest of the car audio world. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The only pioneer sub worth talking about is the SPL model, which is surprisingly expensive. Sony makes shit....bottom line. Kicker amps will smoke the crap out of anything sony can churn out. Besides, when is the last time sony made a decent deck? 5 years ago?

The same can be said for kenwood subs and amps.

Kicker is on a whole different level especially when it comes to amps. Plus their wiring is top notch. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif On the same argument, why don't any of the manufacturers you used make wiring of any sort?

You're just sounding stupid now...because that is what has to be validated...opinions. I know majority doesn't rule but I used to sell Kicker product...and was not impressed. I think they are overrated and gimicks like square subs are pointless.

Like I said before I could go with a lower end system and it would be just as loud, cost less and the mids/highs would sound better....thats why they are overrated.

I don't fight on the internet so you can say whatever you want after this but I am done...

EDIT: Just for reference so no one gets their feelings hurt: 'youre sounding stupid' is a quote from Step Brothers....

Obviously you haven't heard any of my setups, or anybody that competes with kicker. Anything you tried to make with sony or kenwood would get it's *** handed to it.

And this is coming from a guy who has used alpine before. Type-r's are good for the money for sure. Some of the best subs I've used. However, type-e's are subpar and the type-'s tended to be real peaky and liked higher frequencys.

I love most alpine headunits (older models anyways) and their new amps are sleek and powerful for the size.

I'm still unsure as to how your opinion got "validated". Did you validate it yourself?

Oh, and take this for what it's worth, as I don't know how accurate this is......A Memphis rep told me Pioneer actually developed the L7 but couldn't prevent the corners from ripping. Thus, Pioneer sold the tech to Kicker whom later perfected it. Like I said, just what I was told.

I run kicker. I like it. Gets pretty loud. I agree the sound quality isn't all there. but they are pretty loud. running 2 l7 15's on 2 kx1200.1's about to switch to 2500.1

kicker makes good products for the money and stand behind their product very good, i have never had a problem sending a item back to kicker even if it was my fault and i messed up the sub they still took care of it and sent me a brand new sub with no questions asked, they have excellent CS and the square subs i recall has more cone area so in the same ideal conditions and same sub ratings as in power and sens, and ideal box specs and same vehicle and same power the square would be louder because of the cone area, i recall cone area has alot to do with how loud it can get

and how many guys have won SQ comps with solo x's 18's several guys have so dont come in here bashing a product that is very reliable and is good for the money, and their amps are underrated and do much more power than said to do and its clean good signal too

you try to get 2 12's sony xplod's against my 2 12's l7's on same power 1500rms ohh wait you cant they will only handle 300rms if that give them w/e power u want and u wont be louder than my 2 12's with a sony sub
