Is JL w7 that bad?

your sub, especially for 240, is a great sub. if i recall correctly, the 13w7 hit lower frequencies with a higher DB rating than an BTL and other spl drivers. the audiophiles here dont like em too much because of the fact that they sound sloppy compared to the older JL stuff and compared to equipment they run for the same price. you can get louder for the same price and you can get cleaner for the same price but all in all, its still a good sub.

JL is a fatastic SQ sub.. It will pound but overpriced and made for SQ... but all in all its a solid sub

saying the W7 is a crappy sq sub is like saying the Funky Pup is a crappy spl sub.

duh, thats not what theyre designed for

and of course theyre $$$$$$$$$, when youre comparing them to subs you can buy direct like Fi etc

I have some and they are good subs. Yes Yes Yes, they are over priced. I just like subs with bigger balls that have a harder hit like Fi, AQ, DD, DC, And RE. I've heard every size W7 made. I don't think you guys are missing that much that wish you could afford a W7? Most of the reviews you read will be misleading because most people that have them used sorry subs before, and really have nothing to compare it too. It really just depends on what type of bass your ears like. A pic for you that think I'm one of those guys talking out the side of my neck!
