Can we get a current "who owns what" thread?

This information is scattered so widely and so sporadic it is impossible to assemble it together ACCURATELY without the help of others. Can you please contribute your knowledge in this thread as far back as you can recall and about as many companies as you recall about who owns who and who they bought them from to date as much as possible?

Example:
"Company1 sold to company 2 in 1998 then sold to company c in 2006 and company 1 is currently still in possession of company c."

"Crunch sold to Maxxsonics 9/99"
Think of as many companies as you can and who owns them now, if you have previous owner knowledge please post that as well and we'll make a nice chart //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If someone has never sold out, this is helpful info as well such as Kicker - Stillwater Designs - still owned by original owner.

Let's actually get some info together instead of letting our history fade away! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Also, in an effort to preserve our car audio history I have been assembling every picture of competitions, equipment, anything related to car audio from 1980 to 2000. If you have any pics please send me a link or pics to audiopics@gmail.com See the current gallery here which has grown to 5,000 pictures in less than two weeks! Here are a few off the top of my head:

Epsilon Electronics - Soundstream, PPI, Power Acoustik, and Kole Audio

DEI - Orion and Polk Audio

Maxxsonics - MB Quart, Hifonics, Crunch, and Autotek

ETA: And an interesting tidbit... Bruce Macmillan, who used to design amplifiers for PPI, currently designs amplifiers for JL Audio.

ETA2: Robert Zeff, formerly of ZAPCO, along with his company, Nikola Engineering, designs amplifiers for Arc Audio, Clarion, Cerwin Vega, and Elf Audio.

I'm interested in what went down with RE audio
id also like to know. Id like to know what role Kove had with RE/USamps...I had heard that Kove was bought out by UsAmps, who then sold all the parts to Treo? I heard stories, and I have no idea the validity, of older Treo models literally being made with Kove parts

Any idea what year MB sold out the first time?

I was just talking to maxxonics the other day about this. Don't quote me but I believe it was in the 90's but I may be wrong. I believe they were bought twice and bankrupted twice and then maxxonics took over. the original engineers that worked for mb quart are supposedly still doing work but for another company. not sure what company though

Steve Mantz still owns the best amplifier company and has since he started it in August of 1983.
