What is peel and seal?
I am still thinking about doing some of my floor with fatmat simply cause I cant afford to do it with rammat and I think it would be better then nothing
I bought a roll of rammat for my trunk and hopefully some of my front doors
peel and seal is basically just an asphalt based adhesive with an aluminum facing. It will work but like rudy has said it is susceptible to heat, if you follow the link in his sig you can see the test he did and show how little heat it takes to fail. So on a floor is not too big of a problem, however any non flat surface your looking at trouble
If you can afford second skin it is the product to go with hands down, while it is more expensive you must also remember that to get the same results of second skin your going to need multiple layers of a cheaper deadener. So if you think about it your not saving money all your doing is causing yourself more work.
I know many people compare secondskin with raamatt and dynamat. While taking nothing away from raamatt, i personally feel it is not even fair to compare with second skin, i recently used a roll of it and while it did work and was just about as easy to use it is not nearly as think as even regular damplifier, there i found myself using multiple layer to acheieve the same results as places i only used on of damplifier.
Now dynamatt i would say is very similar to regular damplifier, they both perform very well and would consider them very similar products, but when were talking about damplifier pro there is no comparison.
What really seals the deal for me is this, second skins customer service is second to none, i have never and i mean never had a company as willing to help its customers as second skin. Ant is a great guy and will answer any questions you have. For example i emailed Ant about a week ago asking him about the shelf life on his spectrum product that i have had sitting around for about a year, he responded saying that the product was still good but an older formula that was not as good as the current spectrum, so he then asked for my mailing address so he could send me a quart of formula to mix into the 2 gallons i had that basically made my old spectrum equalivent to the current selling product.
He did this without me asking or anything, all i did was ask about the shelf life and he took it a step further and sent me this free or charge with free shipping. That right there is customer service, after that i will never buy another deadener.
So basically my philosophy on deadening is this, do it right the first time. Dont buy an inferior product because the results will be inferior as well, save some money and spend it on a product that outperforms every other product on the net and i can promise you that you will not be disappointed.
