Is FatMat any good?

1) If your not a retard, they cover it
2) You were expecting a refund? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
It isnt uncommon to get a refund if a product doesnt do what it is advertised to....

FatMat Sound Control Inc. Warrants to the original consumer that FatMat & Rattle Trap products will be free from manufacturing defects for a period of ten years from the date of purchase when the material is installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s Application Instructions. FatMat Sound Control Inc will furnish replacement material for that portion that is proven defective without charge.
Manufacturing defect is a pretty big loophole when nothing is said about suitability for the purpose for which it is being sold. I do know of one person who was offered a refund when about 1/2 of it fell off within a month but he had to remove what didn't fall off and send it all back. The new owner has only had the company for about a year. Let's see what the warranty looks like after a few more.

Ill continue to use it no matter what flamers say...
10yr warranty etc....

blow me
On the other hand, pro-asphalt posts like this don't worry me much at all //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Rudy: what do you think of the dense rubberized carpet runner? Obviously it doesnt replace butyl mat, but it might work great as a top layer on flat surfaces (floor, etc...). It is closed cell and the closest thing I can equate the density to is the real tempur-pedic memory foam pillows and matresses, except this stuff is a little more dense.

When a product has manufacturere defects the product is inherently defective and should be sent back imediately. If product is designed a built properly it should always work properly.

If a the warranty is limited to the shelf life or half life that is much different from a 10 year manufacturers defect warranty.

I think I might give Damplifier Pro a 10 billion year manufacturers defect warranty...

I'd definitely give it a try on the floor.

Is rammat the cheapest deadener that you would actually reccomend rudy?
It is. You sacrifice a little in terms of foil thickness and adhesive quality (as far a damping goes) but it is reliable and you can do a good job with it.

I recently did my front doors in Raammat... The adhesive works MORE than good enough in my experience. I'm not worried about it at ALL. I wanted to use Second Skin, but at this point, that just wasn't an option. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Alright so ill go with rammat for the trunk and hopefully the two front doors. If it does not cover it ill should I just get some dynamat extreme (Like a smaller pack) to finish the front doors with ?

Dynamat Xtreme is a good product - just tends to be a little expensive.

For those of you who are doing extreme dampening installs (more than 1 layer in most places): IMHO, it would be pretty cost effective without sacrificing much if any dampening efficiency to use a base layer of the good stuff (damplifier pro, etc...) and use raamat for any additional layers.

I see nothing wrong with using fatmat on the floor of a vehicle, I did that on my old s10 and it worked great. I did use quality mat everywhere else though (doors, backwalls, roof, etc).

Dynamat extreme bulk packs can be had cheap from amazon.com recently too, thats where I got my last batch.
