Is 4ga to dist. block then 8ga to amp correct?

I have two amps, one PG Ryval 4 channel at 75 watts RMS X4, and one RF Mono 300 watt sub amp. I have 4 ga wire from the battery to the distribution block. Is 8ga from the block to each amp sufficient?

In addition to the amps breakers? If so, what current rating of fuse would be suggested?

now you got me confused. I have a similar situation. I have 4/0 fused running from my bat to dist block. Than from dist bl it goes to both amps in my sig.

You should put a fuse anywhere the wire changes. That said, I usually only fuse at the battery. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

BTW, are you really running 4/0 in a VW?! Isn't the wire as big as the car itself? 4/0 is massive wire.

i'm only using 1 fuse....thats a 200 after my 2nd battery...my run from the front to the back is unfused...but then again i've made it so that nothing will ever compromise the casing of the wire....so in turn no problem to prevent...

so yes it is smart to fuse...but if the run is short and controlled (in plain view) where nothing can touch or cut it....then you'll be fine.

I am assuming he is using 4 gauge, vs 4/0. I agree, that would be some massive wire!

yeah its a mistake . i actually run 4 ga. Didnt know that there is 4/0 . oh well thats why im here
