I have had an AQ1200D and 2 JL 10w6v2's in my car for a while. Recently I put in a nine.2x and CDT components to round out my system. Everything sounded great for the first week, but the output started getting more muffled or lower in volume and even some artifacts in the music like pops and static at the worst points. I have a HO alternator, big 3, and I did voltage checks on the car with it off and on (12.5 volts car off, and 14.2-14.4 volts when on). I put a 55 hz 0 db test tone on and a high volume and the voltage at the battery never drops below 13.2 volts. I also checked the speakers with a dmm and they are all reading the appropriate load values (~2 ohms on each subwoofer and ~4 ohms on each component speaker). When I read the AC voltage coming out of the speaker outputs of the amps with the same loud test tone playing (and the speakers not plugged in) it only read around 12-13 volts and I set the gain with a multimeter with the same tone at around 34 volts. I did the same with the 2 channel component amp and the voltage was really low for it as well at moderately high volumes.
I'm kinda wondering whats going on but I can't really figure it out. I have changed out head units with another head unit I have and it wasn't that. Any ideas on what could be the problem? Neither of the amps are going into protect mode and I find it hard to think it could be the amps both having the same strange trouble at the exact same time. Any help is great appreciated.
