i have a treo ssi 10 in a 1.75 cubic ft box tuned at 34 hz off just under 800watts rms. this is in a scion tc hatchback. i got metered at 134.1 at the dash on the new termlab. the car seems kinda loud but i think i really want more. is 134.1 really loud for a single 10 in a daily driver box? i wanna be in the 140-145 db range but i don't wanna use my entire trunk and have that much weight in the back.

Kinda loud for a 10? I would say not, 140+ would be my opinion of a loud 10" setup. 134dB is what I would expect for a small daily driver setup like that.

140-145dB is not hard to reach with proper application, and it does not mean you have to use all the space you have back there. Do you have a budget in mind?

would an hd310 or hd312 hit 145 with about 2000 watts going to it. i think the problem with the treo ssi is that it's geared more towards sq. i don't have money to upgrade at the moment but when i do i want it loud.

well thats a decent score i think with a 10 an 800watts but im sure you could squeeze 135-136 with some tinkering.... if you want to get louder, get an Audioque HD310, an put 1500watts on it an the right box you should be there with your score range, or get a Massive Audio 12 an put 1k to it in the right box an you will be where you want, its just a matter of how much you are willing to spend an the time an testing put into the install....

what a coincidence, we posted the same time about the same thing..//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

i would love to do a 15 in my car but i don't see that happening. i might want a little room to throw something back there someday. so an hd312 or 10 with 2000watts rms will get to about 145 possibly?

Don't do that, Tommy will make your balls shrivel to raisins with his Type R...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif

And he's not lieing:blackeye:

I would go the HD312 route with 2k RMS and should have that hatchback thumping

EDIT: Or a 10" if you want to keep the 10" goal

dont start asking that question...its all dependent on your box, your install, etc...your car...dont ask if x sub with x amp will do x score
i understand but with comparing other peoples scores with similiar subs and boxes and all you should be able to come up with a good estimate. i just wouldn't want to buy all the shit and not even come close. i'm deffinetly not a noob to car audio so i don't wanna hear that.

so what amps do between 2000-3000 watts rms at 1ohm that you guys would recommend. and it would be a good idea to add a second good battery like a kinetik in the trunk right? and upgade to all 0 gauge wiring i assume.
