is 134.1 db's loud for a single 10?

Hd3-12 and 2k will get you into the mid 140s easy just gets louder with more power obviously did a 145.7 with 2k and a Dual 1.5 hd3-12 in a 1.5 cube box tuned at 40 hz I have vids as well, but many people do, feel free to ask me I have a good amount of experience with the aq woofers as do a few other members on this forum such as jeremiah25, eggleston, prochobo

I haven't read the whole thread, but imo 134.1 .... is just a number. If the system pleases your ear, and is 'enough' who cares what some digital read-out says. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

you used the 12 in a 1.5 cube ported box?

Hey tC, you can fit a 15 easy, i'm building a 3.5 cu/ft box with 32 hz this sunday, i can show you pics when its done if you want. I did the measurements, that box is fitting in there and still staying under the cover so outsiders cant see the box. And you don't need that space, the back seat is huge, just put stuff you need there.

cheapest way would be to take that ten and put it in about a 2-2.5 cuft box because itll handle it and tune it to about 34-40hz and that should put u either close or in ur 140s. ive had my two tsx tens in a 4.5cuft box with 1000rms and they were perfectly fine with it. so build a new box since its cheap and adjust ur amp accordingly then get metered. you could tune it to about 34-35hz if ur wantin a 140 daily driver or just a 140+ spl setup tune to 40ish or watever ur car it tuned at. im gettin 146 now out of two tsx tens in a single cab f150 no blow through..yet. anythings possible

146 isnt good for a pair of 10s of that caliber FYI, but what do you want a 140 for? Burp, 30 seconds of music, constant daily driver? All those play a factor man, I can do a 149.1 with a single 12 for 30 seconds of music or daily driving, but I would honestly never listen to it that loud.....If your trying to do a 140 with a single 10 for daily driving sounding good on music your asking a bit much from a driver of that size......perhaps a single 12 would be more adequate for you.

thats whats i'm trying to figure out. i just wanna be dumb loud on music and have it still sound good daily. is a 12 really that much louder than a ten? i'm thinking i want an AQ hd312 in about 2.5 cubic feet tuned to 38-40hz probably on a sundown at .75 ohms.

In my test yes the single 12 is THAT MUCH louder then a single 10, I have no experience with the sundown amps, but my AQ 12 handled 4k daily problem free tuned at 40hz, so roughly 2k daily should be fine, but thats a bit large of a box from Myself and teamates testing with the AQ woofers, if you were only running like 1k that box (2.5) would work better.

eh single sub setups can get pretty loud and low.

The most impressive number that I ever got out of my MT 12" was a 150.3 @ 36hz. It gets quite loud over 40hz too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif.

Just takes work and time, and time and work. And a few hours in the garage with the TL. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

so maybe 2 cubic feet for the 12 with the 1750 watts that the sundown will put out at .75 ohms? 1.5 just seems small, i have my ten in 1.75 right now.

lol 1.5 seems small huh, Well in 1.5 with a niche 6000d (I was getting 1500rms) I did a 144.3 at 40hz in an suv so that would be in the 40s for you...1.5 is AFTER all displacement keep that in mind when you build....
