Is 1-ohm safe?

As the title states I am wondering if 1-ohm is safe to drive 2 kicker s12l7's. Some people have already given me recommendations on amps to drive them, but they can only drive them to their potential if they are at 1-ohm. The companies say that their amps are 1-ohm stable, but i want see what people say from personal experience. The 2 amps that are in mind are the hifonics bxi2006 and the power acoustik a3000db. thanks

Sorry guys, i meant s15l7's, not s12l7's.

Any decent amp designed to drive 1 ohm loads should do it w/o a problem. 10 years ago it was rare. Today, common.

Neither Hifonics Brutus nor Power Acoustik are exactly top-of-the-line, but a LOT of people have had success with both of them.

Wire them right, set them up right, and all should be well.

I have that same PA pushin my 3 12" Audiobahn AWES12P 1100rms/2200peak each and that thing bangs hard as hell. I blew one of the12s the other day and now im about to upgrade my system with massive subs and soundstream amps, I think it will be better if you go with the hifonics cause if you wire the PA at 1ohm it will blow the L7, Hifonics and PA both make great amps I tired them both I also had the L5 & L7 I blew them both with a 1200wtt PA

Ok, before you go upgrading subs, you might want to check what you're doing wrong with your install. So you blew a 'Bahn, an L5, and an L7 and you think that it's because the amp puts out too much power?? i mean, that may be the case, but more likely than not, it's because you have zero clue how to properly set a gain, and you use the bass boost too much.

I Had da L5 runnin on a 550PA then i upgrade to da 1200 and it blew, after that I switch to da L7 and blew that after a couple of months if you look at the specs on the L7 you will see that the RMS is only 750 and the 1200 was to much for that so I blew it and the audiobahn Im not sure about what happen with that I pop my trunk one day and the cone was blown off, In the past 6yrs I have only blew 3subs I might of made one mistake but know what im doing, nobodys perfect, and im upgrading cause I want something new

Thinks but I was lookin more towards 2 SS PCA3500D, but i have been hearin some bad things about SS amp that they last a couple of months and you have to keep sending it back for repairs

Well, since you're running the 15's, then either amp will be fine. But personally, I would trust the Hifonics amp over the Power Acoustik any day.

Thats because you did not set your gains properly. If you set your gains right you can use a 1200 watt amp to power a 700 watt subs without any issues what so ever............
