iPod line-out & charging; Will this work?

I want to feed my iPod's line-out into my amp, instead of feeding my amp the headphone-out.

Also, I need to be able to charge my iPod full-time.

Anybody know if this will work, if I just snip the JVC adapter end off to access the wires I need?

don't do that just get one of these
