iPod help...Alpine 7897 & KCA-121B

I just bought a used Alpine 7897 off of eBay and love it. Awesome deck. It came with the KCA-121B (plugs into the Ai-Net and has RCAs on the other end). So, I bought an iPod adapter that plugs into the bottom of my iPod Video 30Gig and has RCA outs so I can plug it into the KCA-121B. Supposedly, I should be able to play my iPod through the Aux input on the 7897 and have full functionality. It plays, but I have no volume control. Anyone else run into this issue? Any advice?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Theres no volume control from your HU? Hmmm.....i just bought the KCA for my 9813 and ita all peachy. Maybe try turning on your AUX mode manually????

I tried turning the Aux on and off, and still no luck.

I can't control the volume from either the iPod or the HU. It plays, but only at one volume.
