Inverting multiple subs?

Polekat, what exactly is an isobaric installation? I dont have it set up that way as far as I know lol , the box is 2 cubes tuned to 35hz common chamber.
I tried the reverse wiring of the inverted sub, but as soon as I wired it that way, the whole sub setup sounded as if..... one sub was wired wrong.

So I decided to wire them both as if they were both installed inside the box, then it went back to sounding just like it did before I pulled the sub out.

If it helps at all, both my subs are D2 and my amp is a Kicker Kx2500.1 , they are wired to 2 ohms.

Sounds to me like your cut-out for the sub is too small, pinching the gasket as the sub falls into the flush mount baffle.

Any time you reverse the mounting position of a speaker, if you wish its relative phase to remain the same, its polarity MUST be reversed. This is not limited to isobaric setups.

You will also be adding more volume to the box because the sub no longer in it.

Ok, if my subs sound the same as they did BEFORE I inverted one, how do I tell if I am having cancellation?

I ask because they do sound the same as they did (as far as loudness and sq) when they both were mouted inside the box.

The differences may be so small that you have a hard time hearing them without doing an A/B comparison.
