internet brands - all they're hyped up to be?

You may not live near a shop, but you said that the stuff was "obviously" for DIYers since there are no shops around. There are plenty of people running smaller name subs who have shops around them, that's all.

what i meant was since you are not buying from a shop, it's intended to be a do it yourselfer. on ED's old website when they used to sell the A series subs, they had a thing on their website that said this is for do it yourselfers.

well i got numbers to back up my rl-p's. 149.3 on the dash //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif i'm just saying that you said internet brands, when really you have only used two internet brands, and that was there entry level subs.
Some of us don't care about SPL(I know that puts us in the minority). I would love to hear an RL-P. Hell, I will check out any sub, I don't care. If it sounded better than what I have and I had the cash, i would buy it. I just haven't found a sub that I loved more in my setup than the w6v2. The 12W7 was nice, but off 500 watts, the w6v2 made more sense. I am much more interested in performance than the name on the sub. JL just happens to back up the name with great performance.

actually if you search the forums you will see that most people consider this sub an sq sub. again it comes to install. i wanted loud so i made it loud, if i wanted sq i seal it.

Just found the website...they look nice(cheap too). Ofcourse, after shipping, one would be about the same price(if not more) than I paid for my W6v2 :O)

So every person who orders a sub off the net has no shop around them? That is one helluva an assumption at best. People take their ED/RE/whatever subs into shops all the time for installs(or have boxes built, etc).
I am saying that just because they sell over the net doesn't mean they are just for the DIYer since so many very inexperienced car audio installers buy them(so they certainly are not DIYers).

I think the point he is trying to make is, that when you buy something authorized through B&M shops they usually give you a deal on the install. Be it mom and pop store or the "Mondo Burger" of car audio....yes...i just quoted good burger. But, do you get my point? Knowing you are buyign a product solely on word of mouth and some install pictures and the reviews from those guys, not listening experiences you honestly have NO CLUE how the sub can sound/is made. Buying the sub on the internet does not have the steps that buying from a dealer does. For example....walking in and sayin if i buy this sub this amp and this wiring, will u install for a lot cheaper sense y are pulling this money in on the purchase. When you buy from internet companies MOST, not ALL , but MOST want to try the install aspect of things THEMSELVES. If that means buying an RE12 instead of a W0 12 to save money.....they do it. The pride in knowing you installed something is worth more than throwing money down. And the majority of the time ou get buy almost 50% off cost wise.

wasn't loud at all for me... relative to other woofs ive tested. Only chance I see you doin those numbers would be 2 15's at a high note - don't really know anything about your setup though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Don't like it sealed... way too much over 50hz and a roll thats too steep after that.

I used eD as an example because they are really poor buisness people imo. I know their subs arent copies, but apparently the amps are just rehashed hifonics and kickers.
FALSE. You read that somewhere without doing any research. Stop spreading that kind of information. Don't do that with ANY company, I'm no eD suckup, but that's ANIT-HYPE.

I see your point(kind of, some of your post is hard to follow), butIcetee and i were not debating

"I think the point he is trying to make is, that when you buy something authorized through B&M shops they usually give you a deal on the install. "

2 12's, 3.6 cubes net, tuned to 39 hz., playing a 41 hz. tone, with a pg tantrum 1200.1, in a jeep grand cherokee. there is also another guy on here who hit 151 db's with 2 15's.

no idea how you managed that, the woofs just dont get loud? It just didn't mechanically handle the power and didn't do anything with it before that... especially at the lower note. I assume the score was on a TL?

That is also too low of a note for a grand cherokee on the dash... ? heh
