Hello All,
I have a new (to me) 2007 Chrysler 300 Limited with stock equipment. Since the day I purchased it (from a dealer), it has had intermittent problems with static in the speakers.
Here are some of the characteristics:
The static can be best descibed as if you were listening to a radio station and driving outside the range where you would then get static mixed with the music OR I guess simply being tuned into a station and being off by just a little bit.
It may start in the front left or front right - depending on the day.
If it is only happening on the left, you can fade the music to the right and it sounds fine.
If it is only happening on the right, you can fade the music to the left and it sounds fine.
Sometimes it will move from the left to the right or from right to left.
Sometimes it will consume all the speakers.
Happens with Radio (FM and AM), Audio from back dvd player (stock), Regular CDs and MP3 cds
Turning the car off and back on does not solve anything.
We have played with all accessories (GPS, heated seats, etc) to try and stop and/or reproduce the static.
So far the dealership has replaced all the speakers and the head unit. In their defense, it is very hard to fix a problem you can't reproduce but at the same time, I can't stand getting into a new car and having to listen to static for an hour (or a minute) depending on the day.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm basically trying to help the dealership which will in turn help me out. My only guess is a wiring issue somewhere ... but what do I know...
