Intermittent sound from speaker to speaker

Hi all got a weird problem with a head unit and amp.

When I have the head unit on radio it only plays out the subs which are hooked through the amp.

When I have the head unit on CD it only plays through the front speakers which are not hooked up to the amp.

I think the radio might be the issue but looking for some confirmation from others that maybe I wired it wrong or didn't hook something up.

The way the system is wired: front speakers through the high level wires from rear of head unit, rear speakers are missing so are not hooked up at all, and subs are hooked through the low level RCA jacks labeled front output on the back of the head unit. There is also a rear low level output RCA jacks that I tried as well with no change in the problem. The Battery power is hooked to the battery and the remote power is hooked to the rear remote out wire from the head unit and ground is to the Jeeps body under the rear seat.

The head unit and the amp are just cheapos but I have never had this happen on other systems before.

The head unit is a Kenwood KDC 3025

The amp is a Boss REV535

If you need any other info let me know.

Thanks!

You used the wrong wire at the head unit for the remote, you used the blue wire which is power antenna, use blue/white instead.

check your fader position for both inputs.

Why did you hook up front to rear output and sub to front output?

Or, the remote is switched with the pwr ant. I'm assuming that the bass amp is way over gained "IMAGINE THAT?" making the sound inaudible before the sub is full tilt then when the media is played you can turn up the volume creating "drum roll" SOUND!

I miswrote some of the first post...

The front speakers are hooked to the front wire leads out of the head unit.

The rear speakers are missing so the rear wire leads are just capped off from the head unit.

The front speaker low level RCA jacks are hooked to the amp then to the subs.

When the Tuner is on it only plays through the amp and subs, no sound from the front speakers at all.

When the CD is on it only plays out the front speakers which are not hooked up to the amp at all and no sound at all from the amp subs.

Hope I clarified that a lil better.

I'll have to check if I hooked up the amp to the remote power and not the antenna, I have been known to have brain farts like that before.

Any other suggestions with the new info I gave?

that clarification is better. still verify fader and remote connections first, then report back. i suspect the remote connection is why your subs don't work with CD.

i see no reason why the HU amplified speakers wouldn't work with Tuner but work with CD. that makes no sense unless there is an internal problem with the head unit.
