i am about to pick my car up with an alpine type r swr-1042D 10" sub in a Q logic sealed box. please give me a guide to breaking it in, its my first ever sub or car audio aftermarket anything (i also installed 2 sets of components and a 4 chan amp).

Details:

» 10" 4-ohm subwoofer with dual 4-ohm voice coils

» Kevlar-reinforced pulp cone with Santoprene rubber surround

» cast aluminum frame with perimeter venting

» frequency response: 26-600 Hz

» power handling: 200-500 watts RMS

» peak power: 1,500 watts

» sensitivity: 83 dB

» top-mount depth: 6-7/8"

Details:

» 200 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (400 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms)

» variable low-pass filter (50-200 Hz, 12 dB per octave)

» variable bass boost with wired remote (0-18 dB at 40 Hz)

» switchable subsonic filter (12 dB/octave at 25 Hz)

» speaker- and preamp-level inputs

» preamp outputs

» CEA-2006 compliant

» three-way protection circuitry

» 4-gauge power and ground leads recommended — wiring and hardware not included with amplifier

» 12-3/4"W x 2-1/2"H x 9-15/16"D

pushed by a kicker KX400.1

i dont have to keep it low for a few days?

I kept my audi (manual *****) at under 4200 rpm for the first 5K miles.

i cant just turn it up loud and go at it, can i?

hey livinglife, im sure its not for the first time, ur an a**hole.

i never heard anyone say that, ive heard everyone say the opposite.

plus, u wouldnt be such a tough guy if u saw my many powerlifting trophies, ya lil *****

just break it in.....dont turn it past half volume on ur headunit,....im assuming ur gains were set wt a dmm and ur bass boost on ur amp and headunit is OFF....2 weeks is plenty

tHANK YOU BRO,i have a remote bass control knob, dont know what a dmm is though

DONT BREAK IT IN. IT IS NOT FRICKEN NECESSARY!

i wish people would search on topics like this. you take it out of the box. you hook it up, set your gains correctly, then proceed to turn the volume up all the way and pound on it.

wow. im scared. if u used that nifty tool up there called "Search" u will find many many threads about this. and in no way... u would not need to break in ur sub, just set ur gains with a DMM, and ur good to go.
