not really there hasnt really been a proper review on them. He got them yesterday, and they are getting 4 cubes each. Maybe some others will come along with different setups that like them.

Not knocking SS or Manny in any way when i say this but theres not many subs people look at as SQ and put them in a 4 cube 28hz box

just personal preference , i dont use big ported box for sq. to each thier own im not saying anythings wrong with it, its just not my flavor.

NO kidding. Even if the Mag is better it's still A LOT more money.

Well he is getting a mag, so that is why 04redmach1 said that. So money isn't an issue for him.

And there are plenty of people out there that can afford either the Q series or a mag. And it will just be good to see if the mag will perform better, for people who have money to spend on either. Because a lot of people don't care too much about price, and just want a sub that will perfrom real well.

I agree.

A good sub, should have very good SQ when ported. 4 cubes each, isn't a huge box by any standards. If he had it in 6 cubes tuned to 55hz for spl or something, then I could see people saying the box was bad. But a box that gived each 12 around 4 cubes and tuned them to around 28hz should sound very good.

The big question that is close to being answered is : Is the Q a 'budget' mag.

I think we need to wait for a few more installs to know for sure.

The price isn't as big of a deal as the VC config. I am iffy on running my brand new amp at .5.

And from what I have been hearing, it sounds like they aren't all that far behind the mags in overall quality. But we will have to see. Of course the mags will be better, but for people who can't afford the mags, it sounds like it may be the next best thing. But after Hoss's install I am sure he will let us know what he thinks.

And of course more installs would be a good thing. That way we could get more opinions. But I just hope the others have as much expieriance with subs as MannyB18B does. Because 99% of people would be blown away by a Type R, and write a great review on anything halfway decent, but until you hear a lot of the higher end brands, it is hard to find out what subs really are outstanding.
