installed my system but not impressed.

alright so i re tuned it, to more closer to what i play it at and now it sounds good. i had to turn the gain up though. would it be better to use less gain and some bass boost? or if the gain is 3/4th the way up is that fine?

the most your probably going to get out of that amps is 450 rms thats 225 per sub. but that should run them decent. you will have to use most of your gain but like the others say leave the boost off. i looked up some kenwood amps and one is close it says 1000 watts but it is actually 170 x2 @4 ohms and 250 x2 @2 ohms or 500 x1 @4ohms bridged. unless you have a high end kenwood thats what your looking at. so if your subs are dual 2 ohm wired at 4 your not giving them much. if you have dual 2 get a mono amp or a 1 ohm stereo stable. wouldnt really recommend another kenwood either. you can get something much better for the price of them. i see alot of people on here selling good amps for good prices.

i have 2 cvr dual 2 in same kind of box, basic sealed box powered by a autotek sx2200 its 1 ohm stable and it works out decent. its plenty loud. you can try getting some pollyfill to put in the box. that might help. i lined mine with it. i like sealed boxes better as im not looking for spl as much. i like everything to sound good and like the punch of rock or whatever im listening too. one thing i have noticed about the cvr subs is they lack that punch and higher frequency bass. not impressed overall with the subs. i had two in a ported box powered by a crossfire vr401 which works out great and yea they got loud but not loud with every song only songs with mid to low frequencies and i dont like limiting my music selection. well good luck man.

thanks, the amp i have is supposed to do 900 at 2 ohms. so i figure its overrated so i should be close to about 800 watts. i got it sounding good and it sounds great, it gets plenty loud now. thanks for all the help everyone.

alright but i am fine if the gain is up about 3/4th of the way up?
really would depnd on your pre out voltage. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif lower the pre out voltage from the head unit the higher the gain would have to be. just be sure to listen closely for any weird noises

when i had cvrs they sucked until i got a kicker amp, just a suggestion.
lol matching the brands woofer and amp isn't necessary to make the woofer or speakers sound right //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I used to have 2 12 cvr's in a 1.25 prefab sealed box. Then I built a 4 cube ported box tuned to 33. Man! The diffrence was night and day to me, and it didnt cost to much (about $50 I think) and only took about a day to build. If you have the space I suggest you build a ported box yourself or get someone to build one for you.
