i finsihed up my install of two 12's kicker CVR's. i got them hooked up to a kenwood 900 watt amp am giving them 400 watts RMS each. im just not impressed with the bass. i had a shitty system before only giving 200 RMS each to some shitty directed audio xtreme 12s and they were louder. when i set my gain i did it 3/4 of my HU volume. do you think because i don't play it at that 3/4 volume im not getting the full power from the amp? i hope they get louder as they "break in". did i do something wrong or should i not of excepted a big difference from 400 RMS to 800 RMS?

Maybe your box is wrong.

Check your amps output with a DMM when setting the gain. Also, try using a 60hz 0db test tone burned to a cd on repeat while setting the gain. I bet you're not putting out a full 800 watts.

it would make a huge difference to go ported and build a box that will be to the right spec of ur subs, prefabs are terrible!!

Yeah it does. Sealed ones are air tight and the air act like extra suspension on the cones. It'll take more power than ported to get loud.
