Installed HID's on the 08 Silverado(PICS)

dude dont get your panties in a bunch. so go tell all the cadillac, bmw, range rover, and other high dollar car owners that and see what they say. these lights arent even bright, just blue. i drove down 2 lane roads tonight and never got flashed once. save the safety first bullshit for someone who actually gives a fuuuck. im selfcentered bc i have hid lights??? lol what an idiot

I'm not flaming at all, but I think his point was that you have a lot less useable light than the lower K bulbs. I dont care, different strokes for diff folks. I had 8000k but went to 6000k and noticed a bit more useable light.

Well, I have the most problems when I turn left or right. I end up looking through the driver side window, not the windshield. I just wondered if the HID lights made a big difference.

welll..... i like the blue color. that being said, i use HID conversions so i can actually see at night, so i stick with 4500-6000k. it looks like those blues put out less light than stock. but it does look good!

i installed silverstar ultras in my passport and get people flashing me all the time thinking the brights are on....they are great for on and offroad driving

trying to figure out if the hid's are brighter than these

Silverstars are not worth it. I had them before I got my HID kit. BIG difference...But only if you get 4300k-6000, even in stock headlight housings (not retrofitted projectors...which really are the only way to go to get the best lighting, as said before in here).

the ultra's make a huge difference over the stock yellows

edit: actually have one of the yellows laying at my place, so ill put one of each in to demonstrate the difference

Nice, even though people say the 12000k is useless, from my experience it's still much better then stock.

I've used 6k, 8k, 10k, and 12k.

Sometimes 12k is way too purple and looks fcked up, I prefer 8k because it was a nice blend of blue/white that looks sweet on a black truck.

It all depends on who makes them....
