Installed HID's on the 08 Silverado(PICS)

its not about the hids glare (which can be dangerous too) its about having bulb so blue that it is worthless as a headlight. you can argue this all you want but the blue and purple bulbs are not safe to drive with, they have poor lumen output, they are a funky color that strains the drivers eye and they can be distracting to other drivers. you argue that range rovers bmws blah blah blah, and not even arguing about glare only color alone those oem setups are all under 5000K. and provide optimal lighting conditions not 8000k not 12000k. hell I remember driving my moms maxima in heavy rain and with an oem hid setup I STILL had a hard time seeing. I can only imagine what trying to drive in the rain is like with super blue low output bulbs... its probably worse that the stock halogen setup
btw there are no d.o.t. approved drop in bulb retro kit.. anything that has been converterd from halogen to hid with a drop in bulb is pretty much illegal.
baby much? perhaps you just need your eyes checked

usually I would agree with the "as long as you like it" attitude but this isn't a tacky paintjob or sony xplodes here... you are diminishing your nighttime visibility, possibly putting others safety at risk. I feel the same way about the idiots that tint their windshield.

yea to each his own. i had the 10000k pilots, but those were blinding blueish white. and my truck was lifted 6 inches so that didnt help. im not about blinding people. i just like the blue color
thats actually some pretty fair consideration that works out both for you and the people around you. i drive a slammed car and i hate being in front of trucks with super bright headlights... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif to you

just wanted to show pics. The lights are no longer for sale. (didn't want to get in any trouble) And just for the original posters information any hid kit that is plug and play and also retro's are illegal unless they are tested by a lab and certified by sae and/or dot. They can cost a bundle in fines if the authorities wanted to pursue it. The housing and or projectors must be designed for hid lighting to work properly. Not trying to get on you about anything, just wanting to share some knowledge. enjoy your lights.

Hope you dont mind me asking, but how much did you spend on the lights and where did you get them? Also did you do your fog(the ones on the bottom) lights as well? I hit a button to turn mine on, do you?

Oh yeah, I like the lights. Your windows are blacked out right? If so, how do the lights look through the tint?

i spend $240 installed for the conversion kit. the bulbs that are in there now are not the originals. the originals were 8000k and the ones now are 12000k. i got them at discount car stereo and had them installed there. yes i have some fog lights coming in as well. they are not hids but close to it. they dont make hid kits for the fogs yet. i believe they are 9145's. i just ordered some nitro blue replacement bulbs. i really dont use the fogs. yes i have a push button to turn them on. when you say how do the lights look through the tint, i dont understand what you are saying. i look through my front windshield which isnt tinted. they are blue looking through the windshield. i can see the road fine with them
