Hah so i have a new laptop and went ahead and put together a little stereo system for it. im runnin an american made Planet Audio 400x2 amp and an MTX 200x2 amp off of a 480watt power supply. the MTX is powering 2 sony 2 way stereo speakers which i have tuned for highs and midbass, then the PA is powering 2 MTX thunder 6000s in a sealed box under the desk. all the guys in my hall think its awesome and want to throw some hall parties here so its pretty cool. sounds pretty decent so im satisfied for now. anybody want pics or something? comments?

waiting on vid. the vid actually sucks. cam didnt pick bass up at all. it hits low and tight though. i went all the way down the hall and the bass just bellows out from my end past the other end and basically throughout the 1st floor. cement walls are great haha

You run a power supply that provides DC current.

To the OP: How many amps is the 480 watt power supply rated for continuously? I picked up a 35 amp power supply today for $40.

thats a very very good price for that kind of power. i think its rated above 35 amps but im sure it costed more than 40 new. i didnt buy it though and it was given to me so its perfect. has the fan and everything which blows at the amps so it keeps them cool as well.
