being a ford its probly a serpintine(yeah i know, sound it out) you know the one where you just turn one bolt and it loosens the whole thing

No, just the tensioner.

you must have a bracket that the tensioner pulls the alt up or lets it go down unless its a serpatine

That's the old alt, but you pull down on the tensioner to get slack. I wonder if Adavanced Auto Parts would have one like 1/4" or 3/8" shorter.

mine also whines and noticed belt dust too. Tightend it up goes away for a couple of days and comes back. I dont want to keep tightning it cause itll do damage to the alts bearing, i think 1 of my batts is going I have to test them this weekend.

its small pieces of black rubber that looks like dust lol its caused from belt slippage and i also used the belt conditioner and didnt work so dont bother using it to stop the squeling, i still think its caused by a bad batt, its probably acid batt under the hood i got to test it.
