I have an install that I am going to start tomorrow on my 2005 Dodge Ram Quad Cab SRT-10 . Here are a few questions:
I am curious as to how most of you that have trucks mount your amp racks to the back wall. I have seen some people mention screwing the MDF to the back wall and then coating it. I have also seen some people mention Velcro strips. Just curious to see what you guys have done.
I got my roll of Raammat and wonder where the best place to put it with how many layers. This is my first experience with sound deadener products so I assume this is going to be a slow process for me. My guess is 2 layers on the inner and outer portions of the doors, 2 layers on the back wall. Where else if I have left overs?
Here is what I have going in:
Kenwood 819 HU
MA HS502 Amp for subs
MA M500xe amp for mids
62.5 sq ft of Raammat
1/2 MDF
14awg speaker wire (to rewire all speakers)
Probox with 12's
Polk Audio MMC6500 Components for the front
Infinity 6012i for the rear
4 gauge wire with fuse
Fosgate RCA's
PAC SWI-X for steering wheel control
Let me know if you have any suggestions and what you think of the setup!
Thanks,
Paul
