sounds great... I'll probably carpet/sand and paint it at some point.. but it's my g/f's and she doesn't care what the trunk looks like

Why are you justifying the old subwoofer by saying anymore bass you'd have to lower the gains or a 12 would hit a little bit lower, etc? Either it works for your needs or you're making some sort of compromise.
