Install shop says my amp was blown before they removed it???

About 2 months ago I bought a Sundown amp for one of my vehicles, from a stereo shop in one of our neighboring towns. My plan was to take it home and install it myself but they insisted that if I wanted a 120 day warranty they had to install it and then considering all the wires were there, including the subs, etc. it was free install so I let em do it. The amp was working great.

Fast forward this week, I told them that I needed it removed because I sold it and they said it would cost me $25 for time but I would be able to keep the warranty if the buyer blew it op or something (does not make sense to me cos how would they know if the buyer damages it??!). So after a week of cat and mouse they finally remove it yesterday and tell me the amp was not working anymore because "something in the wiring" that was done by me had caused it to blow. BULL ****. The amp worked right until I drove up there!! I should have showed them I guess //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

After alot of arguing they agreed to have it fixed at their cost but now say it could take about 2 to 3 months before it gets repaired because they have to ship it off, their repair guy is sooo busy blah blah blah... AND if they cant get the parts then they will refund me the repair costs. WTF???!

I do all my own installs and only let them do it because of the warranty so I could see it working. I can't believe this - anyone else think this is a bunch of crap?

I would have them meter that amp right in front of your face to prove it is not working. Nothing a little multimeter couldn't fix.

Yeah I was thinking all that yesterday after the "bad news". It all comes down to I should have never trusted them. @sundownz ; im sure the owner of sundown wouldn't mind hearing the shady business that his vendors are doing . Also a great guy as if you have a receipt you have a 1 year warranty through them and i would rather have jacob take care of my repair then that shady shop

dont be surprised when there not a authorized dealer.. also "keep the warranty if the buyer blew it op or something" is bs, this is not covered. lol

if im buying an amp from a brick and mortar pace it better be authorized or i am not buying.

yes sundown does not have transferable warranties. I know crescendo did on there old amp but that was rare

LOL yeah they are definately NOT an authroized dealer - just a small stereo shop that buys, sells, trades and do small installs from what it looks. One thing I found amazing was the amount of high end brands they had, used that is...

Becuase of their bs warranty and yes I should have remove it myself - it probably would have still been working now haha.
