Dont know what to do....

I was playing intramural flag football last night and caught a nasty shoulder to the lower left side of my ribs by a teamate, he ran the wrong route... been hurting like crazy. figured i just cracked a rib or something and docs cant do anything about that. Now i went to take a **** and it was dark and i guess bloody.... but a **** i took this morning was fine... Being serious by the way.. What would you do, hospital away at school, or wait till tomorrow since im going home for spring break and go to my regular doctor. this is scary as **** but idk what to do... put youreself in my shoes and give me some opinions..

Honestly unless you feel it's life threatening and are showing some serious signs of internal bleeding then wait it out until you get home, it's only a day. The hospital bill you'll most likely get will make you wish you waited unless it's life threatening, to me it doesn't sound like it is.

Edit: Have you tried checking if you have a broken rib? You'd most likely know for a fact if you do.

I'd go get it checked out at the hospital

fuckkkk. i mean i was fine all day and now that i took a **** like that has me more worried. and now that im worried my stomach hurts worse...

Definitely get it looked at immediately. Blood in your stool is a bad sign. Are you sure it was bloody? Sometimes I have some dark poos. You may have just gotten a nasty hit and also eaten something bad. If your other stool and any thereafter are normal, then it probably isn't internal bleeding. Actually, if it was a rib I would think you might cough up blood.

Idk, I'm not a doctor. But if you feel progressively worse then do something. How long/far away is your trip home? I understand about trying to avoid hospital bills, but don't put your life in jeopardy because you want to avoid a little debt.

I'd go with his opinion over mine, I'm only a course instructor for First Aid/CPR so my knowledge is more limited then his. Personally I'd think if there was internal bleeding or a punctured organ then you'd be either A) Coughing blood B) Continuous bloody Stools. The feeling you're getting about your stomach is most likely in your head, your body can play mind games with you when you start worrying about things.

you may be right .but you may be wrong to. better safe than sorry .anytime you take a hit like that and end of in your condition [bloody stools] you should be looked at .

I agree and pretty much the only reason I'm saying to wait is that he will be home tomorrow. If it was anymore then 1 day, I'd say go to the hospital now but regardless it needs to be checked out.
