Install shop changed prices on me

These are our shop rates

Deck=$55

HD tuner=$20

Amps=$70 each

Comps in factory locations=$75

Comps cutting holes for tweeters=$100

So what does that come out to.......$300 on the high side.

With the price of copper now, 0ga is up to $10 a foot, so if you need lets say 20 feet for power and ground.........=$200

Now you need an 0ga fuse holder.......=$40ish

Now you need distro blocks for your 0ga so you can run the proper size wire to your amps.....=$25ish each.

Now you need 4ga or 8ga to go to the amps..........=$20 or so.

So lets now get our grand total for PARTS and labor.

Labor=$300

Parts=$310 or so

grand total=$610 or so plus tax on the parts.

So I would say it's about $400 too much.

knukonceptz.com please print it and bring it there

$3.25/ft for great quality 0 gauge. $10/ft wtf?

like if you pick up a set of brake pads ~$50 and 20 minutes per corner. Get it from them, they will tell you $200 for the pads and an hour per corner. scum assume you dont know a thing, they have to chop that bill at least $500. whatever they got rent to pay but I say $500 is generous for a half days work.

No problem, but as always I forgot a few things. You will need some speaker wire and a few other misc things like ring terminals and fuses, so Maybe another $40 or $50 bucks.

That's a lot lower than what I should be paying. I was thinking hey even if they told me 600 I would be like cool as I don't mind throwing a tip for good work.

dude I would do it for $50bucks.. its VERY Easy, I taught my GF how to install HUs and Amp Kits.. for real.. im sure she can do every bit of an install with supervision.. all except build boxes.. I cant even do that, but i have the best box guy in the area doing my boxes, for the LOW

im gettin a BNIB AQ sd2.5 and box built ported at 35hz ALL for $125.. goin in the girls car

I will not get into a wiring argument, but if you want to see why that wire is 3.50 a foot I will BE GLAD to ship you a piece I have at the shop that is green all the way through with corrosion after being in the car for less than 6 months. Just let me know!

You pay people for what the know, not what they do. If your heater broke at your house would you try to fix that? I wouldn't, I would call someone who knew how. It just so happen that you know how to install a radio, so can my 13 yo daughter, but would you want her to? So you expect that everyone should do it for CHEAP or free. Would you do your job for free?

So would you install a 0 guage amp kit for a system like mines?

I would recommend it yes, but you could get by with 4ga. I always like to build a little bigger than needed, if you know what I mean, and you are running more than one amp.

WoW 6 billx for such a little install? Thats **** in itself. 10 bux a foot for 0 gauge thats just nuts. You can find good 0 for 4-7 bux

OP 1 grand is fucking insane. Tell them to **** off and dont send them referrals. **** shops that do this to good customers. Find somone on this forum that lives in philly and have them help you. Its insanly easy. The first step is the hardest. And thats just getting out the tools to do it.

Oh and 0 gauge is overkill. Unless you plan on adding quite a bit more power dont waste that cash.

So I'll ask you the same question I asked earlier. Would you go to your job and work 8+ hours a day for free?

There are two types of people in this world.

1: People with more knowledge than money.

2: People with more money than knowledge.
