Install Rant for the day

Alright, last year my girlfriends brother asked me to help him install a system in his 2001 GMC Sonoma. So I though eh ok I might as well, get in good with the family or w/e. So as some of you know, on the s-10 and sonoma it is easy to run wire through the firewall due to grommets. So I ran it through there, its all good.

Then 7 months later I do an install on my girls car and he comes in trying to tell me Im doing it wrong. I say well I have 20+ installs and you have only helped with one. So he goes off denying that I even helped with his install. He claims it was all done himself.

Now comes the good part. His carpet was suddenly soaking wet. Come to find out, his AC was dumping the condensation into the cab. He is trying to blame it on me saying that running the wire through the grommet allowed the condensation to run down the wire into the cab. Ok, how is that possible when he claimed I never touched his system.

Anways, im pissed cuz he is trying to get his mom(my g/f's mom) pissed at me by blaming it on me. In my thinking, if it were cuz of the wire and a whole year went past and this problem never happened, why the heck does he think it would just show up now.

slap him, then bone his baby sister(or older sister). Take a pix and post it on ca.com, then link us all to ca.com. Where then we will all proceed to scar him for life //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

What grommet did you use?
I drilled a hole.....

me = loser.
on the pass. side there is a rubber cap that fills a grommet hole. It's about half way up the firewall. I just pull the cap out, cut a hole in the cap, and slide the wire through. Gives it a tight fit

I used carlon watertight conduit because the wire gets close to the exhaust manifold...It is a bicth to install but keeps out moisture, somewhat heat resistant, etc. It is primarily used in homes for outside wiring.

haha

Slap his stupid ***

I got blamed for a stupid *** install one time that all I did was run the wires

"Dude you blew my sub"

But bro you hooked up all the wires, all I did was run the power, the RCA's and the remote

"I know the RCA's were backwards and it blew my shit up

Jackass, I didnt even hook the amp up :p

Haha. This guy isnt the brightest. He actually was puzzled as to why I upgraded from 12's to 15's. His exact words "whats the point of being any louder?"

dimes are also notorius for leaky heater core.
Is he sure that isn't the issue?
I tried to tell him the issue wasnt the wire. The carpet was completely soaked. Last time I checked, condensation from the AC doesnt drip down the firewall.

Im almost positive its a leaky heater core. He sealed the grommet hole with silicone so when his carpet gets soaked again then he will know it wasn't my fault
