Install question

i have a 2007 silveado with the factory indash navigation unit, i already have my subs installed but was wondering, i dont have pre out on my head unit so i had to get a frequency converter and tapped that into the back door speaker wires. i just wanted to no if im getting the maximum outa my amp in doing this, i have a hifonics 1606 using a 4 gauge wire both ground and power cable. with 8 gauge speaker cable.
